So, the boys know Grammy loves frogs. She LOVES frogs! She collects frog things and has them all over her house. They decided it would be a froggy mother's day for her. They made her frog suncatchers. Then, they decided to buy her her very own frogs. Little, tiny real live frogs. We found them at Mackinaw Kite and they come with their own eco-system in a little lucite box. Two frogs (both male they say and we hope!), rocks, gravel, a snail to manage the frog waste and a bamboo sprout. The frogs eat twice a week and only need new water a couple times of year. Other than that they are very little work and lots of fun to watch swim and jump and play.

We got the frogs before Mother's Day even though we knew we wouldn't see Grammy for a couple weeks. We wanted to play with them a bit ourselves but the boys were so excited to surprise Grammy and we had to make sure they didn't blow the secret when we called her on Mother's Day. We were strictly instructed NOT to buy frogs for Grandma Kris no matter how cute they were. We named the frogs Tapsy and Frogbin after my imaginary friend's when I was a child. The boys named the snail Gary, after Sponge Bob's friend.
Imagine our surprise when she reported she had been out for dinner with Aunt Judy and Uncle Dick and guess what she had??? FROG LEGS!!!! The boys were in hysterics laughing when we heard that.
This weekend Grammy came to visit. She loves her new pets and took them home. Good thing they only eat twice a week because she forgot their food so we can mail it to her in time for their next feeding.
REALLY good thing they are too small to eat!!!
