It's Fall

It may be fall but my flowers don't think so. Matthew decorated the driveway. In a couple of months I will look back at these photos while we are buried under snow and miss this greenery.

Fall at Cozy Corner

We spent the weekend at the cottage for Grandma Cindy's birthday. Uncle Brian and Aunt Jill joined us by camping at the State Park with their boys and a friend. The weather was raining on Saturday but Friday and Sunday were beautiful.

A Grave Tale

My dad was a bit obsessed with buying a grave site and marker this summer. It was finally installed in the end of July and is here in Grand Haven in the cemetery near the cottages.

Dad wanted to take a picture of himself laying on the grave with flowers in hand and his grieving grandchildren grasping kleenex weeping over him. He wanted to make it his facebook photo! Sick sense of humor, sick.

We didn't have time to do that this summer but we decided to go and find it one rainy day recently. We figured we could take pictures of us dancing on his grave and he would be amused.

Once we got there it was a bit somber and scary. I suddenly lost the desire to be silly about it. Too real.

Hopefully, we won't visit there again any time soon.

Back To School

Jonathan's class made cutouts of themselves for their desks for back to school night.

The boys are in separate classrooms for the first time this year. So far, so good. It was time for them to have some time apart and not compete so much and they were ready too. I can't get over how grown up they looked the first day.

Labor Day Breakfast

Every Labor Day we celebrate with a breakfast on the tennis courts at the cottages. This year was no different although rain came in shortly after we started so people had to eat quickly and take shelter under the trees around the courts.

It was over too quickly, just like summer.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend brought back K.C. and Kellan to the cottage. We have missed them dearly this year and loved having them back even if it was too quick of a visit.

We also got more surf time in, some fun visits, some time with Grammy and the annual breakfast on the tennis courts.

Cannot believe summer is over!
