Hayley forgives us

Hayley got to come down and have a good swim and play catch with her ball for a good hour last night. She had a great time. The water is in the 70's and just beautiful and we stayed on the beach until after 6pm.

Surfer dudes

The Pirate brought the boys boogie boards for Christmas and we put them to good use yesterday!

How to disgust Grammy with one picture:

Sorry Grammy, the boys just have good taste.

Friday in Papa's Pool

I got to take all five cousins to the pool Friday afternoon on my own. We had a great time and the girls inspired the boys to begin jumping off the diving board all by themselves which they do like crazy now and just swim off. Before, they demanded a grownup there to catch them.

Ella spent most of her time on the steps but she ventured out on a raft with big sister Katy a few times and was even floating a big by the end of the day.

I think that first picture could end up as Grammy's Christmas card this year. It's a keeper!

Chamber picnic and concert in the park

Spent a beautiful evening Thursday night at the Chamber of Commerce picnic and concert at Mill Point Park thanks to an invitation from Papa Mark. They had lots of fun food and free popcorn and popsicles during a concert by Living Soul, a Jimmy Buffet type band. We ran into Jeff's cousin Michael and his wife and adorable daughter Tegan too. Lots of dancing by all the kids.

A note from Hayley

Hayley would like it noted, for the record, that July is just not a very fun month for a dog whose family is busy all the time. Poor Hayley, January is much more her style.

New Game

Apparently, jumping and bouncing on these is just not fun enough. It's much more fun to hit each other with them. Daddy was supposed to calm them down before someone got hurt but ended up joining in the fun instead.

I do think Ella won! Look at this face!! Don't mess with cousin Ella!!

Beach and Tubing

Sand castles and swimming fun.

Yesterday, we had a quick tubing trip with Papa Mark. We decided it was ok it wasn't sunny since it was still warm but storms came in just as we were having lunch so we headed in quickly and just beat the rain. We'll try again this weekend.

4th Festivities

We had a gorgeous beach day, a yummy dinner at the cottage and a few fireworks in the park and then trekked up Five Mile Hill to see the big fireworks. The kids had glow in the dark jewelry and earrings. Fun night!

Hooray!!

Loose Tooth Lainey lost that snaggly horrible tooth!!! No more torturing her dear aunt.

Happy 4th of July!!!

We kicked off summer with a pizza dinner on the beach. The next day we had some horrible storms and weather roll through. There was quite a bit of damage in town and at the cottages but it's being cleaned up quickly.

My sister's family is here now. We had a 70th birthday party dinner for Papa Pete at the cottage last night. He a got a Wii from all of us and although he is not sure what it is, we think he will like it once we show him.

Lainey has one disgustingly loose tooth and loves nothing more than torturing her Aunt Laurie by wiggling it and moving it around. She ate corn on the cob and ribs last night and the darn thing STILL didn't fall out!!

We're having a lazy day today, a nap this afternoon and then we will return to the cottage for dinner and fireworks downtown. The boys and I are going to spend the night but Jeff feels badly leaving Hayley the dog home alone when she is terrified of fireworks so he is going to come home for her. Jonathan says he is making us his special chocolate chip muffins for breakfast tomorrow, can't wait!

Happy 4th of July!!
