Baseball in the Spring

Went down to see the Reds play today, sunny and beautiful but not too warm. We had fun seats in right field.

We'll have an early Easter dinner tonight and be up early to see if the bunny visits Mariemont and we will hit the road north after church.

Doesn't sound like Hayley has had time to miss us, the neighbors and Papa Mark and Grandma Kris have been spoiling her.

The boys will be sad when they don't get to pick a cousin to have a slumber party with each night at home.

Springtime at Keeneland in Kentucky

We drove down to Kentucky yesterday and spent a beautiful day having a picnic and watching the races at Keeneland. It was sunny and nearly 70 and we all have a little sunburn.

Aunt Mary Anne sprung for stylish hats for the kiddos at a gas station pit stop. Jonathan wanted pink like Ella but was talked into the black hat instead and the clerk told him he looked like a "short Tim McGraw" which was all he needed to hear to keep the hat on for the day! Ella was quite stylish in her brown cord jumper which had red horseshoes sewn on it. She got lots of compliments.

We didn't do so well with betting. Jonathan won one race and walked away 20 whole cents the richer. The girls won a three dollar prize on one race. Uncle Doug didn't do well at all and the kids soon learned to bet the opposite of what he picked. He also paid for their bets and they kept the winnings so poor Uncle Doug didn't do so well.

We stayed overnight in a great suite at the Marriot and had fun in the pool after our day at the track.

Trampoline head

What happens to the hair when the boys jump on the trampoline? Static head in a big way!

What else do the boys love more than almost anything? Rescue vehicles! The Mariemont Fire Chief was kind enough to stop by with a few of his rescue folks and they brought the engine and ambulance to a bbq we went to the other night. The boys were happy to check them out.

Spring Break in Cincinnati

We headed south Monday morning, well we went east first to Ann Arbor and had a baby snuggle with new cousin Kellan and lunch with Sean and KC while Kellan dozed. He's just adorable!! The boys did NOT want to hold him though.

So much for spring, it was snowing like crazy from Lansing east and all the way down to southern Ohio. Cutting the trip in half did make it seem to go much more quickly and we were happy to see the Newman's and their new house. We checked out every room and took pictures of the girls in their new rooms.

We have had some adventures the last couple of days and tomorrow we are all going to head down to Kentucky and check out Keeneland and Kentucky Horse Farm. We'll stay overnight and hit the hotel pool too!

Birthday Celebration

The birthday week ended with a trip to Lansing to see "The Lion King" with Grammy, Grandma Cindy and Papa Terry. We met for brunch before the show and Grammy brought a BIG cake (the people at my work are STILL eating it!). More gifts and cake and we were off the show, what a show!!

We're heading off to spend spring break with the Newman family next week with a stop to see baby Kellan again and a trip down to Kentucky to the horse farms planned. Stay tuned for lots more.
