Easter Eggs, How NOT to do them!

Tried a new gadget where you put the egg inside with the dye and shake them. The goal was to NOT spill dye but they failed miserably and leaked badly and Grammy may have technicolor hands until the 4th of July! We do have pretty eggs.

You can also see how much shorter the boys' hair is after haircuts yesterday.

I have been replaced

I forgot to add the funniest part of the birthday party. I was sitting at the table next to Matthew and talking to his friend Gabrielle who he has suddenly been calling his "girlfriend". Gabrielle said she wanted to sit so I pointed to a seat about halfway down the table that was open and she headed that way. Matthew looked to see where she was going and turned to me and said, "Mom, do you mind getting up so Gabrielle can sit there? I really want to sit next to her."

*sigh*, snubbed for a cute little blonde 7 year old girl.  The boy does have good taste though.

7th Birthday Party

The boys had their birthday party at the bowling alley and each invited 4 friends. Jonathan invited all boys, Matthew invited all girls. Each team bowled 2 games and each boy got one strike, Tommy got two. Several of the girls got strikes too.

There was a LOT of energy in our group and the time flew by.

The boys asked each of their friends to bring donations of cat and dog food for the Harbor Humane Society instead of gifts. We had a trunk full of cat and dog food and kitty litter and we delivered it after the party. It was a great eye opener to the boys how many animals were there hoping for a new home. We are very proud that they were willing to this and proud of their friends for donating as well.

Happy Birthday Boys!

The big 7th birthday arrived with much anticipation. The boys brought treats to their class, cupcakes from Jonathan for the class in the morning and ice cream from Matthew in the afternoon. We apologized to their teacher for the sugar rush!

They got a few presents today and more to come. They also have their party planned for Saturday at the bowling alley.

Student Art Show

The boys each had a project in the school system art show at the Community Center this month. They were very excited to go and see their art displayed along with art from the rest of the schools in town.

Spring!

The first crocus of spring

The boys have been spending lots of time drawing on the driveway and leaving messages for anyone who is coming to visit. The rest of the snow is finally disappearing and we are ready for spring!

What a weekend it was!

Early season bike ride with Grandma and Papa

Grandma Cindy and Papa Terry came for a visit because the boys had no school Friday and they spoiled the boys all weekend while Mom worked. Friday was bike rides, cake baking and decorating, sledding and an early birthday dinner for the boys. They got ripstiks which are kind of like a skateboard but only 2 wheels, hard to explain if you have never seen them. All I can say is if they cause us an ER visit I won't be surprised! The boys are thrilled.

Cake baking

Grandma won't be back until after the boys' birthday so they baked a cake and each got to decorate their own layer. They were quite a creation and possibly a fire hazard but we did enjoy them!

An Early Hunt

Grandma Cindy and Papa Terry kept the boys busy all weekend and they had an early egg hunt in the snowy but sunny backyard. There were too many pictures to choose from so I made a slideshow.

Sledding

These aren't the best quality pictures but you get the idea. They have been swinging and then jumping off into the snow in the yard.
Dad decided to take them sledding before hockey this afternoon.

The snow is rapidly melting and the snow gear is SOAKED!

BRING ON SPRING!!!
